Dr. Jeremy Dauber
Jeremy Dauber is the Atran Assistant Professor of Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture at Columbia University. He graduated from Harvard College in 1995 summa cum laude, and did his doctoral work at Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. His first book, Antonio’s Devils: Writers of the Jewish Enlightenment and the Birth of Modern Jewish Literature, was recently published by Stanford University Press. Jeremy was the project director of the National Yiddish Book Center’s “Great Jewish Books” project, and currently lectures on The Great Jewish Books at the 92nd Street Y. Jeremy also writes on topics not related to Jewish literature; he has an on-line column on television and movies for the Christian Science Monitor, for which he received an award from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists, and lectures on television and literature at Makor and the 92nd Street Y.
